Step-by-Step Process to Calculate Christmas Light Installation Cost

  • Step#1: Choose the Bulb Type

  • An important aspect is to have a brief overview of the two most common bulb types: C7 and C9 bulbs.

    • C7 Bulbs are smaller bulbs with a diameter of approximately 7/8 inch. They emit a softer and more subtle glow. These are often used for smaller properties or when a more subdued ambiance is desired.

    • C9 Bulbs type is larger, with a diameter of approximately 1.125 inches. They produce a brighter and more vibrant illumination. They create a bold and eye-catching effect.
  • Step#2: Select the Ideal Spacing

  • The spacing of Christmas lighting depends on property size and desired brightness. Note that price differences between bulb spacing options are minimal and primarily based on aesthetics.

    • Choose a closer bulb spacing of about 12 inches for smaller properties or subtle and delicate illumination.
    • For a larger property or a commercial display, opt for a wider spacing of around 15 inches.
  • Step#3: Input installation Area

  • It is essential to include prominent areas, such as rooflines and eaves, to ensure an all-encompassing coverage of the property.

    • Measure the length in feet of each installation area. Input this final measurement of all areas into the calculator and our elves will calculate the cost for your desired selections.
